As our project at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel is soon to be revealed, we thought we’d shed some light on some of our suppliers and collaborators.
This week, we look at the work of surface designers Kitty McCall, Midula Dey and Elli Popp.
Catherine Nice founded Kitty McCall in 2011. The brand consists of vibrant homeware that ranges from furniture to textiles.
We used the brand’s fabric to cover traditional deep button armchairs which can be found in the guestrooms of the hotel.
You can follow her on Instagram here.
Midula Dey has been described as ‘Happy Dali’. She gets her influence from fine art which she combines with influence from urban street art. Her work brings together art and surface design, as it has been used in print, fashion and interiors.
We used Midula’s artwork on cushions which can be found in the reception area of the hotel.
Check out more of her work on Instagram here.
Please note that Midula’s work cannot be reproduced or used without permission.
Neo-romantic designs are featured in Elli Popp’s work, where she is influenced by nature. Her most popular medium is wallpaper, but she also designs for cushions, scarves and ceramics, to name a few.
We used Elli’s wallpaper in the public WC’s at the hotel.
